
Columbus Sails Again, at least on this model anyway.
A Beautiful Handcrafted Scaled 1/65 Christopher Columbus Flagship Water Diorama Model. Built from scratch, this model is made out of American Cherry, and Black Walnut wood. All the gold pieces on the model is laced with 23 Karat German Gold Leaf, Columbus can also be seen on deck to show the scale of the ship. The case is 28" long x 20" wide, and 20" high, comes with a clear acrylic case top that lifts of the diorama, so that you are able to view the model without the acrylic top. This model also comes with a Certificate of Authenticity.
The Santa María was the largest of the three ships used by Christopher Columbus in his first voyage across the Atlantic Ocean in 1492. Her master and owner was Juan de la Cosa. The Santa was a small carrack, or "Nao" around 70 feet, and was used as the flagship for the expedition. She carried 40 men. In 1492, in the middle of the expedition, the ship ran aground and was abandoned.
